This 10-day tour is your definitive introduction to the medieval charm and cultural wealth of Central Europe. Starting off in the German capital, you’ll untangle the thrilling multicultural web that is Berlin, before moving on to Prague, perhaps Europe’s most picturesque city. Hot on its heels is Vienna, as elegant today as in the days of Mozart. We’ll escape the urban hustle for a day trip to the spectacularly scenic Wachau, where you can cycle and sip wine on the banks of the Danube. Then, a brief stay in Bratislava before reaching our final destination: Budapest. Where better to unwind and reflect than at the home of thermal baths and hipster ruin bars? All of those alluring dots on the map are joined by several train journeys that flow through some of Europe’s most eye-catching regions.

Customer Reviews

Accommodation

Calma Berlin Mitte

This calm spot amid the storm of central Berlin is all about taking a breath after a long day exploring the city. There are only 46 rooms, so staff here are able to offer a real personal touch, helping you feel at home in any way they can. Our favourite perk at Calma Berlin Mitte is the free coffee (that’s right, free coffee) and tea from 12pm to 10pm.

Hotel Amadeus

This light and airy hotel in the vibrant Žižkov district is quaint enough for a relaxed night’s sleep but also well-connected to all of Prague’s major attractions. The charming garden terrace is ideal for some downtime at any time of day, whether that’s for unwinding alone or chatting with your fellow travellers.

Hotel Post

Amid the historic streets of the Old Town, just a few minutes' walk from St Stephen's Cathedral and the State Opera, you’ll find this classic slice of Viennese hospitality. Its beating-heart location is most likely why the likes of Mozart, Nietzsche and Wagner have stayed here during its various hotel guises, but today we love it for its classic Austrian breakfast, with fresh bread, traditional Viennese pastries and Austrian cheese.

Hotel Devin

The timeless elegance of Hotel Devin has graced central Bratislava for over 60 years, welcoming famous statesmen, artists and entrepreneurs alongside curious travellers aplenty. To this day the Devin has retained its warm welcome, uplifting atmosphere and a genuine touch of class.

Dormero Hotel

This slick modern hotel in the heart of Budapest is just minutes away from St Stephen's Basilica and the spectacular Hungarian Parliament Building. Rooms are tastefully contemporary, with exposed brick, polished wood surfaces and ultra-modern bathrooms, while the Sonderbar downstairs offers a relaxing ambience for a few fruity cocktails, draught beers or a coffee.
